Ms. Fawzia Koofi, a Selfless Leader, a Modern Thinker, Poet,a kind mother, an articulated teacher and a Linguist
In the male dominated society of Afghanistan, we rarely have women as leaders. After the removal of the Taliban Regime, we had Ms Fawzia Koofi, a brilliant young woman who won the hearts of youth soon after she described her modernized ideas on building a modern and democratic society in our war torn country. A support Committee For Fawzia Koofi (SCFFK) has been set up by a group of young Afghans to publicize Ms, Koofi dreams and promote her voice as a true selfless female leader of Afghanistan. Ms. Koofi  served as the Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of the National Assembly of Afghanistan and  now she is the representative of Badakhshan Province. Before becoming a Member of Parliament, Ms. Koofi worked with UNICEF as Women and Children’s Protection Officer and also worked with different Civil Society institutions as a women’s and children’s activist. She also lectured at Badakhshan medical university. She is known as a women’s and children’s rights activist in Afghanistan.
